The Kitchen Has Magic Drawers

The Kitchen Has Magic Drawers

I suppose it’s time to write a new entry. Can’t leave that adorable picture of the royal Princess Lillian up forever. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for all of us. Even Buffers has been depressed. We took her to the groomers last Saturday. There was a Lab there when we went to pick her up. I started crying when I saw it. The lady who groomed Buffy said that Buffy started crying when she saw the Lab too :(

It’s also been a somewhat happy couple of weeks too. We didn’t get the first house we put an offer on, we didn’t get the second house either. They both wanted around $310,000 which is about $20,000 more than the places are worth. So, we put an offer on a bigger place. Yes, it’s more money, but not much more, so it’s actually worth what we’re paying for. We have the inspection tomorrow, so I’ll take pictures. The kitchen is awesome. The drawers don’t let you slam them shut. If you try, it stops and then closes gradually. It’s terribly amusing.

There was that crazy nameless storm last weekend. I’ve never seen so many trees knocked down by wind. Power was out all over the place. I was home with my parents. They lost power at the restaurant when we went out to eat, so we ate by candle light, otherwise we had power the whole time. Didn’t have cable all day Sunday though. We watched a bunch of movies and cooked dinner. We made Caity‘s African Peanut-Potato Stew and it was delicious! All three of us loved it! We had it with Mediterranean couscous which went with it freakishly well. It’s vegan and gluten free too, which makes it perfect to serve to my friends who can’t eat stuff :) Yay!

I felt very useful at work this week. I got called last Friday with a production issue. Got some overtime pay which is always nice, but even better, I was actually able to help :D Helped Rich this week too with AWS stuff. And we had a call about some new CBus stuff and I spoke up and people listened to what I had to say. It was pretty cool.

Went out to lunch with a few peoples today. Was a nice day out, couldn’t spend it inside all day. Tomorrow shall be nice too :)

  1. I’m glad you liked the stew! :D

I’m sorry it has been hard for you losing Princess. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family but I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that. I have lost 2 pets that have been like family to me now and it hurts so much.

I am glad things have been good for you as far as houses. Sure, it’s more money but hey if it’s what you want and it’s perfect then why not, right? It sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to see photos!

I’m glad work is going well, too! It’s always good to feel useful! I hope things keep going well for you!

    • well, we found out today it’s not quite so perfect :-/ we’ll have too see how it goes

  2. =( Yeah, I know how it feels about Princess. I still cry when I talk to my sister about our dog too… =(

Haha, that’s funny about the drawers!! I’d like to see it! Do a video! Hehe.

Anyways, good luck with the house!!!

  3. I can’t imagine how tough and rough it’s been, having a presence no longer there, and one that brought so much great joy and memories. :) Ah house shopping! Fun and not fun! I hope you actually get what you’re looking for, and you pay for what you get, and get what you pay for… sometimes it’s the hardest thing but buying resellers sometimes comes with unexpected maintenance down the road. But you’re starting your new life, and I hope you’ll post pictures too!!

  4. Hey lady.
Hah I love those drawers too!! I like the peanut-potato thing because I’ve been getting into peanuts in a big way.. did that sound weird? yes it did. Well anyway I’ve been putting this Thai peanut sauce on freakin’ everything. lol

People who can’t eat stuff? lol. Yeah I’m one of those too. I say I’m “Organo” because I try to only eat organics. Anyways.. good times. :)
