Utopia
What do you think would be the key factor needed to make a perfect society?

If the world were over run by SciFi Channel lovers and they canceled Scare Tactics and Tremors and had extra amounts of StarGate SG-1 and Farscape and on TV Land all they showed were episodes of MacGyver, I Dream of Jeannie, and Bewitched andpeople who were good with computers weren't nerds and all the popular people were turned into outcasts and the outcasts were popular and the men would like yo if you liked them!
~Lauren_Sedai

To make a utopic society...people would have to get through their difficulties with each other without trying to kill the other off, for a change. People wouldn't be repressed, or challenged because they were different, or anything like that. Maybe diseases and hunger and homelessness wouldn't be issues anymore, if we all helped eachother out. Oh, and the Scapers of the world would own the SciFi channel, fire bonnie hammer, and fund a new season of Farscape by canceling Tremors and giving the MUCH better show the money! Oh, it is to dream...
~Chiana_the_Rebel
(Yes, that truely is a utopia ;) ~Lissy)

If the world were like one big musical and we sung to expres our feeling. I man ALL the time, not just proffesional singers. And we could make up songs on the spot, like musicals. It would rule, and it would be quite cool.
~Kristin

One man's or woman's utopia is another man's or woman's oppressed society. Like the above musical society. I'm welcome in church any time as long as I don't sing. I like singing but I'm really bad at it. So I'd be one of the uncool people. :(
~johca

the only way we could have a Utopian society would be if everybody were exactly alike. Because there will always be faults in one person that another doesnt have and so they will always be shunned, then it turns to enemies and then we have wars.

Zen Koan:
"A Master, Wu Tsu, says, 'Let me take an illustration from a fable. A cow passes by a window. Its head, horns, and the four legs all pass by. Why did not the tail pass by?'"

it is becuase the tail got cropped out of the picture
~Darcy

That the tail definatly did get cropped out of the picture, or that some one got angry with it and chopped it off for food
~Danielle

Who said that the cow had to have a tail?
~Christina

the tail hasn't passed through the window yet
~Monica

the window was positioned in a place where the cow's horns, head, and four legs could be seen. But because the tail of the cow was lower than the window, when he passed by, the tail could not be seen. That probably doesn't make sense because, on most cows, the tails are at the same position on the y-axis (if placed on a graph) as the legs and such, so if the legs pass, why wouldn't the tail? Perhaps the window was diagonally constructed? But, of course, because this is a Buddhist koan, the answer may vary greatly - for the purpose of the koan was so that a Zen master could aid his pupil in enlightenment by proposing one. The realizing of the answer, to the master, was more important than the actual answer.
~Christine

nothing was said about anybody seeing any part of the cow passing the window. Replace the statement with the the cow passed a rock, then the only answer is the cow lacked a tail. Of course there is the possibility it got beamed up to somebodies dinner plate before it completely passed by the window.
~Johca

The cow just didn't have a tail. It may have been a birth defect or it could be dinner. Or it could be used as a cow-tail-switch that the teachers at my school do dirty things with.

Ten Years From Now
What do you think you'll be doing 10 years from now, where will you be, what will your life be like?

Let's see, I'll be 27. I actually had a dream last night about going to my hs reunion, and this would be a year before... well I will have probably just gotten married... we'll have 2 dogs by then for sure, 3 if buffy is... probably living in NY or NJ, or in the Poconos maybe. I'll be working with my husband at his lab (he majored in physics, i minored in, majored in comp science) doin some computer type stuff... lol... After microsoft invented windows 3-D, I started making 3-D webpages and am currently working on a 3-D model of... some physics thing. Hey i tried but it's hard for me to do cause who knows what kind of computer stuff they'll have 10yrs from now. 10 years ago no one had any idea what the internet was. Now look at us!
~Lissy

I'll be 23, and I would hope to be just out of collage or maybe still in collage. Maybe i'll have a boyfriend who knows ;-) I want to become a teacher and live maybe in Massachusetts or Maine or somewhere else. Either that or i'll be some person that makes websites or something haha
-Brigitte

In 10 years I will be 25. I just finished university and now I am working as an architect and I am very successful. Also I have a sweet boyfriend with who I live together and am happy. My boyfriend and me are just planning to get married and thinking about kids. He is maybe a doctor or lawyer. And damn hot. I will be hard-working but every Saturday I will go shopping with my friends. At the evening my b/f and me will go out a lot and do party all night. I hope everything is going to be true in 10 years.
-Annika

I will be 21 in ten years, and I'll be in college (hopefully XD), have a b/f, and still be in contact with my BFF's, and I'll be working at the vet/animal shelter.
-Beccah

In ten years I'll be twenty-six. I think that I will well into my career, since I plan to leave college at the age of twenty-two or twenty-three. I'll either be living in Japan as a cultural anthropologist, or I'll be working close to home. Hopefully around that time I'll find a great guy and get settled down. I want to get married around that age.. so hopefully that'll be happening when I'm 26!
-Laura

Well I'll be 26...away from Pennsylvania...and doing something I actually love to do..which is well I'm not sure.
-Amber

In ten years I will be 22, almost 23. I will probably be still sleeping, in my nice comfy dorm room. or working on my website.
-Sara

In ten years I will be 23, 24 and hopefully be out of college or in one of my finaly years studying vetrinary and equine studies. Possibly, I will get out of college and be on a ranch with a employer, friends, or (less likely) boyfriend

Your Wedding
What do you think your wedding will be like?

I think that I will be marrying Jeremy ;) I want to have a fancy wedding in a church. I want to have a beautiful white wedding dress, the room to be filled with roses, a nice band and more :P
-Brigitte

Well, I'll be marring Jerry O'Connell, yeah right, and it'll be a big church wedding with all my friends and family. And Buffy and Princess will get to be brides maids too. My cousin, Susan, can be the maid of honor. The reception will either be outside or someplace really well lit cause i like it bright and we'll have sushi, and pizza, and all the food you can possibly think of! opposed to my cousins wedding where we only got appetizers, but they live in Nebraska, so. And, and, ooh, I'll hire my chorus teacher to sing (cause she does that, yeah she's a wedding singer, lol, now I wanna see that) and, and... yeah :P
-Lissy

I will be marrying my darling Spongebob Squarepants and the ceremony will be held in the Krust Krab's new Seattle location across from Starbucks. Plankton, who will have long left a life of crime to persue a career as a priest, will be joining us in holy Matrimony and those attending will be My family, Spongebobs family, Squidward(though he swears he's only there for the free krabby patties) and our beloved 2-year old spongebob jr. ( i know we should have waited til we were married but who could resist Spongebob? :) Gary would be our beautiful first man and Sandy the Squirrel, my lovely maid of honor. Oh tarter sauce, i forgot Patrick. yes, Patrick will be the ring boy. After the reception everyone will be invited to a post-wedding party at our Pineapple under the sea. End.
-Sarah

I will be marrying The crocodile hunter steve irwin. My wedding will be in a church that is filled with family friends and croocdiles. I will sit on an alligator that will carry me down the isle to steve. After the wedding i will then move 2 Austrailia to live with Steve also just so you know steve got a divorce with his wife terri the moment he met me!
-Staci

I want to marry a guy that i fall in love with, have a memory-filled wedding, and not be to big or too elegant, but nice and fulfilling
-Astra

After my brother's wedding... I'm gonna elope! lmao I wouldn't want all the attention and I wouldn't want to wait and all. I think eloping just sounds like a good idea.
-Anna

It will be a fairly small wedding, with only close family and friends. I want it to be by the ocean, too.
-Star

I want to have a wedding that is very very small, because I think that what is most important on my wedding day is the groom and me. I want our parents to be there, and maybe a few other close relatives, but that's about it. We will have a reception thing afterwards with the whole family, but I think the ceremony should be very small. I want to feel as relaxed as possible, and I don't want to be worrying about all of the people watching us--I just want to be thinking about the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with. I'm not sure where I want my wedding, but hopefully outdoors. =)
-Laura
