A few months ago, I tried requesting a production login for the old server of an application I was working on at the time. Basically, I had to get a login to this system to request the login. It took me about a month to get that, and when I finally did, I had no idea I got it until I received an email telling me my password would expire. I never got a password from them. So I reset the password and opened a ticket to create my production login. Months later, I received an email saying, oh, we saw this old ticket lying around and created the login. I no longer needed it, but oh well, I have it.

Two days ago I get an email from my manager telling me I’m one of two people in the organization required to take this Ihavenoideawhatthisis training. Turns out that login I created to request the login put me on some list for this system that’s being migrated and everyone on this list has to take this required training. Great! I send an email to my client asking permission to be taken off the list.

I wanted to leave early yesterday so I could go to the gym so I could fit in some exercise before Bryan’s parents came for dinner. Of course I had an exceptionally long boring meeting that lasted almost two hours and then had to deal with this training stuff because my client never replied to the email and the issue had to be resolved that day. I figured, oh well, I’ll just take the tests and pass the training, how long can it possibly take?

If the systems functioned like they’re supposed to, it would have taken about 10 minutes. Instead it took more like an hour. Maryam and I had about 35 minutes to get to the gym and exercise. We rush down there and I realize I forgot my workout clothes X( I run all the way back to our office, get my clothes and run back. At least I got exercise. By the time we got dressed and actually got into the gym our cards still aren’t activated, I had about 20 minutes until I was 10 minutes late to leave. I hopped on the eliptical and exercised my little butt off as hard as I could for 20 minutes. Then I took off and headed over to Julia’s office.

I got home, I showered, I cleaned up a bit and got dressed. A little after 6 Bryan’s parents arrived. His had hurt his back so we opted to order in. Who knew there was a sushi place near us that delivered? Good sushi too.

They also brought the dogs with them, who if you remember from our last trip to Colorado, are two of the cutest little puppies ever! They said they aren’t going to breed them until after all the weddings and we should have a house by then :D

Ah yes, ALL the weddings. Bryan’s cousin is getting married in Hawaii … THIS summer. Yeah, August. X( I don’t think we can afford that. Even if we can, if this strike stuff isn’t settled by then, I can’t go. If a strike happens while I’m in Hawaii, I’m frelled. I would not be able to make it to CT in 12 hours. Within 24 hours probably, but it would cost a small fortune. You would think the company would let me know and just come back after the trip. Nope. Only if they’re immediate family. I really want to go to Hawaii :(
