My weekend was packed, so I’ll try to summarize so this doesn’t become a novel…
Friday, I attempted to leave work early to return my rental car, but because of Roy, I left late and I got lost on the way to the rental car place, so I didn’t make it :( I was pretty pissed off after wasting a good 40 minutes, but lucky for me, we had company over Friday night who brought ice cream :) Ice cream makes everything better, well, except for the tummy ache that comes after eating too much.
I returned the car Saturday morning, ate lunch at 10am, did some dishes and then woke Bryan up. We rushed over to the bank to get a bank check so I could pay for my new car. Then we rushed back home, I packed and we were off to my parents’. We left their house without even saying hi to Buffy and rushed over to the Honda dealership. We arrived around 1:30, we needed to be outta there by 2:15 so we could make our 2:44 train into the city. The guy said it would take an hour to prepare and sign the paper work. They were however very understanding about our rushed situation and we were out of there right on schedule.
I drove straight from there to the train station and couldn’t find a spot because everything was 3 hour parking. Parked pretty far away, ran to the station, bought our tickets and had about three minutes to spare.
Switched trains in Secaucus and made it to Penn Station around 3:30. Then we walked, yes, walked an hour and 15 minutes to Sazon for Rae’s birthday dinner. Everyone thought we were crazy, but it was a lovely walk and we had the time, so why not? We were the first ones at the restaurant too. I think everyone else drove in.
There was so much food and I was absolutely starving by the time we ate, so I stuffed my face. I probably ate like twice as much as Bryan :D I didn’t finish my meal though, it was just too much. I got the Sazon Paella. Every time I took a bit, I uncovered something new in there. Oh, gosh, there’s chicken too??? Rae’s mom got fish that was served inside a fish. Then there was the roast pork that was about as big as my head. By the time we got to dessert, everyone was exhausted :D The flan was really good though.
After dinner, Bryan’s parents drove us back to the train station. We had to wait about a half hour for our train, so we wandered around a bit. We made it back home around 10:00. I drove us back to my parents’, Bryan left and I stayed over. I went upstairs to get my face soap and I hear, “hello, Elissa?” I said “… hello?” It was my aunt. I had no idea she was staying over too :D “Didn’t you talk to your mom?” “Well, she told me about her foot.” She left me a message on my cell that I didn’t get because my battery died.
OK, my car. My car is pretty awesome. I can reach the peddles and see over the steering wheel easily. My wipers and clock work :D There’s plenty of room to put that entertainment console we want to buy. That said, it’s also a little bizarre. No aux input, no remote to unlock the door, the headlights don’t turn off automatically (that’s gonna get me one day) yet it has a feature that increases the stereo volume as your drive faster. Really? Plus a zillion little warning lights for all sorts of things. I’m going to look into the keyless entry kit.
Sunday, I exercised, read through the car’s manual, went out to lunch, went out to dinner. My mom really wanted to watch this French comedy. Turns out it was Italian and it was NOT a comedy. Actually, it was pretty depressing.
Left early because I wanted to drive home while it was still light. The weather was pretty bad and I got stuck in some traffic, but still made it home earlier than usual. Went food shopping, then bed.
Tomorrow we’re going out for Julia’s birthday. Good thing I’m not dieting. A lot of birthdays in May/June, including mine!

Wow! Sounds super busy :) I have a 99 reg car so I have to unlock with a key, have manual windows & it came with a casette player (but my dad put a CD player in for me!) but I love it to pieces :)
Hahah, so that hour and 15 minute walk was probably around a 4-mile walk. I’ve done around that much before, so I understand, and I know how people must think you’re crazy for walking that much. Haha.
Haha, your car sounds crazy, especially the one where the volume increases as you drive faster… I’ve never heard of that in a car before!!
Haha, have fun at the birthday dinners! Sounds delicious though! Haha.
actually it was less than three miles, but we stopped at Starbucks and this store with fancy hats :)
I’m glad you were able to get your car! In my car I have nothing automatic (seatbelts, locks, lights, etc) are all manual. I don’t know what I’d do if I had a car that did it all for me, lol. That fish in a fish looks awesome even though I’m not a fish eater. I have an appreciation for food served in unique ways. Enjoy the birthday dinner you’re going to! It sounds like you’ve got lots of nice celebrations coming up. =]
Yay for your new car. I am sure that you will get used to it soon enough :) It sounds like a very eventful and packed weekend :D
Wow, that sounds like a busy weekend, but there’s definitely fun stuff in there =D That fish looks a little scary, but I like the idea behind it =P
And yay for your new car! I’m sure you’ll be used to it in new time.
