I volunteered to do the presentation for the One Team, our little social group that plans events for the organization, at the Employee Series meeting yesterday.
So I’m sitting there, waiting for my turn to speak when people in the front start twitching. Turns out there’s a huge spider walking around the front of the room. Great! The only thing I’m more afraid of than public speaking is spiders.
It’s my turn to go up and I start looking around for the giant creepy crawly, like a freak. I don’t see it. I go through the presentation as quickly as possible and with many umms. I run back to my seat.
I don’t think anyone noticed I was shaking. They all said I did a good job. I’m sure they were glad it was short. Our slides somehow got messed up though. The heads were all missing their stick figure bodies. Everyone was kinda looking at the screen like, why are these people decapitated?
Lol, I had almost given up on myself. Things got a little crazy after Christmas. My aunt was going through cancer treatments and then had her surgery and she is still recovering… she was allowed to go home just yesterday. School became even more hectic, I just finished a few days ago :) Now I have almost freedom until September!! :) It is almost freedom because I am taking an internet course that starts on the 5th, but that should be easy lol.
I hate presentations, but I usually do quite well on them, surprisingly. I hate spiders too. If I had seen one I would either have left or went to find something long, like a broom, to kill it with lol.
Oh gosh… that happened to me as well. I’d be talking to my Office Manager, and all of a sudden, I was like “ugghhhh…. SPIDER!!” I’ve been seeing more and more of them lately.

LOL, that’s more like my sister with those spiders. =P But yep, I know what you mean about shaking and all during the presentation. Haha. Reminds me of this one time back in freshman year for my Communications class. =P
I’m petrified of spiders. Eeeek. I probably would have freaked out. Awkward situation. hehe.
I hate any type of bug, etc. They all creep me the hell out.

Ergh! I would have done the same, if I’d seen a gigantic spider creeping around somewhere when I had to do a presentation like that! I’d be worried it was like, right behind me if I couldn’t see it! :O
I do not have a fear for insects, but I can feel your apprehension when presenting in front of a class and seeing your fear. Right there. But it’s good that you kept your composure as much as you could. =P
