Days like this are why I wouldn’t leave my job even if I got a crappy assignment. My coworkers are amazing! They threw me a surprise birthday party today! Maryam told me they were giving away free sandwiches downstairs. I totally fell for it. I had no clue! My birthday’s not until tomorrow and I thought we were celebrating it on Friday. No one ever threw me a surprise party before. I was so touched *tear*
Maryam made this whole entire feast for us of unbelievably delicious food as always. And she made a chocolate cake X( It was so good. And I got presents too! Chocolates and flowers :D
Watching Sex and the City on Saturday, I felt even more like Charlotte. She said in the movie how everything in her life was perfect, so something bad had to happen. How much does that sound like me??? But nothing bad happened to her, so hopefully things will keep on goin’ peachy because life is perty darn good right now.

Haha that’s so awesome! Sounds like you have awesome coworkers/friends. :)
Yay for chocolate cake! :D
LOL! I know what you mean about falling for tricks! Yeah, I know what you mean about surprise parties too. Happy early birthday, Lissy! You deserve it! =)
I’m glad you had a nice time with the cake and the presents! =)
Hehe about the movie. Yeah, I have no idea what you’re talking about, though. =P
Happy birthday Lissy! My cousin shares this special day with you :) It’s really nice to have your coworkers throw a surprise party for you! It’s not like everyone can get such angelic coworkers, you’re definitely luckily!
Speaking of the chocolate cake, you’re making me hungry…
“She said in the movie how everything in her life was perfect, so something bad had to happen.”
Gosh, that is totally my mentality too. In the last couple weeks, things were going so well that I became even more fearful that something was going to go horribly wrong. I know it’s completely insane to have that type of thinking process, but I do tend to believe that some extent of suffering brings on blessings, and too many good things are bound to reveal some suffering.
It’s really sweet how your co-workers treat you like that. =) It’s great to have co-workers that are also friends. =) They’re a rare find, but definitely worth the work, you know, when the work actually feels like labour itself.
It’s the 5th where I am. Happy birthday! =D
Just thought I’d come out of hibernation long enough to wish you a Happy Birthday! Glad to hear things are going so well. I envy thee! =)
Happy birthday Lissy!! Aww, that’s so wonderful of your co-workers!! When they spend the time to do that, you know that they truly care for you as friends and people, and not of the status of a co-worker.
Ach… so sorry, but I am not a Sex and the City fan… I cannot even bring myself to finish one episode ever of that show… I don’t think I can spend hours watching it on a big screen.
I’ve never had a Surprise party before. That would be such an awesome feeling, I reckon, knowing that they went all out of their way just for YOU!! That was so nice of everyone. Wish I had that type of job, where everyone actually CARES enough that its your Birthday.
And the little ‘scam’ they pulled over on you just to make you fall for it and go downstairs. Free sandwiches? Bahaha. I would of fell for it too!
Happy Belated!!
Dear Elissa–
Happy Birthday and many, many more. We love you. We saw your mom and dad today. I would love to see you sometime.
