Sorry I’ve been away so long. Work was crazy this past week. Not only did I have to transition all my work to the IBM people, I was Robby’s backup while he was on vacation. So I had to transition his stuff and finish his development work. I didn’t expect there to be that much work to finish. His shell script wouldn’t work, his code that no one has touched for a month, wouldn’t compile, he forgot to check-in four files and it took many attempts at builds to realize this. Guanjone says Robby owes me lunch.
At the final transition meeting yesterday one of the IMB people asked if we compiled the code we were working on last week. We said of course not, it won’t compile! Yeah, then we realized that it probably should. So I tried compiling it at 3pm. I was still trying to compile it at 7pm. I finally gave up. No idea why it wouldn’t work. Brad had no clue either. Even if I put the original code in, it didn’t work. Whatever, IMB’s problem now.
Today was my first day on RUBY. It was a pretty uneventful day. A nice change from the rest of the week.
Tomorrow one of my coworkers is moving into my apartment complex. Yay, carpool buddy! I took her over to hand in her application yesterday. The rental lady said she’d try to get me a discount on my rent for the referral. I doubt it’ll happen, but it’d be nice.

It sounds like things were really haywire over these past few days, filling in and everything, and fixing mistakes. Your job sounds too interesting. I’d probably love it too. I’m curious, but what IS your job title, because I want to look into it.
Carpool buddies. The best way to save gas!
Wow, geez, work did sound hectic with all that you have to do. I now understand how crazy work can be. LOL.
Oh wow, Ruby?! I want to learn Ruby!!
Oh wow, that’s nice about your coworker moving into your apartment complex. I don’t think we ever got a discount for referring people in… =(
It’s not Ruby, it’s RUBY. It’s just another part of at&t.
Oops, my bad, thought you were talking about Ruby, but you had it caps for some reason. Hehe.
