United Way fundraising started this week at work. Smita and I went around to all the offices on the fourth and fifth floors in our building. We collected a lot of money. We also got some interesting responses from people as to why they didn’t want to donate. My favorite were the people who just stared blankly at us. Can’t really blame them. It’s a little weird that they’re paying to go around the building and collect money for charity when employees already pledged money online through payroll deductions. The money we collect doesn’t go to the United Way though. It goes to the Sean Hanna Foundation for Pediatric Cancer under the umbrella of United Way, but you don’t really get a chance to explain that to people.
We’re also selling snacks and people have been stealing them. Yeah, nice, steal from charity. ‘Least it wasn’t our floor. I wrote notes on the boxes to make people feel guilty.
Next week we wash cars and the week after we’re having a garage sale. Yeah, the people at our campus are going to be sick of us by the time this is over.
While visiting Surbhi’s office yesterday to collect money, I noticed my college roommate’s photo on the wall across from her. He he, Surbhi’s office mate is Emily’s mom :P I thought that was pretty funny.
Today Rachie and I went shopping! I bought too much dren, but it was fun. I’m glad I got to at least see her before things get all crazy. She’s doing the grad school thing and working and I’ll be busy every weekend for the next month or so. I miss my friendses :(

Oh wow about collecting money… That’s an easy job! LOL!
Wow, lots of things to sell/do for the charity…
LOL about your college roommate’s picture.
Hehe, that’s great about seeing Rachie! I know what you mean about seeing someone before things get crazy!! I’m glad I got my social life over with(for right now), because things really are crazy! Yeah, I know what you mean about being busy and all… =( I miss my friends/social life too! =(
How low is it to steal snacks that you were selling? People. Pft. Y’all are going out of your way, and people can’t even respect it.
