I met Jerry O’Connell. My written account of that day:
On Wednesday, February 21, 2001, I met Jerry O’Connell!!! My favorite actor and the guy who I have been obsessed with since I was 10 (1995)! Not only that, but every moment of it was captured on film and aired on MTV’s Total Request Live! This is how it happened:
I went to go see TRL Wednesday because I knew that Jerry was hosting it. This lady saw me with my sign and she said, “Is this sign for Jerry? OK, before the last segment, I’ll bring you over to the island over there to meet him.” And I’m just like OMG. So she did that and I was standing over there waiting and I was looking at this person who was requesting a video and then someone said, “Look! There’s Jerry!” And I looked and I started screaming! He came over and he stood next to me and I’m totally freaking out! Then the tech guys are giving us instructions, and then we’re back on TV and Jerry says, “Tomcats, March 30th, everyone’s going to go see it right?” and we’re all jumping up and down and shaking our heads and screaming. Then he says to me, “well, I know you will,” and then he asks me if I made that (my sign) and I’m like uh huh. Then he asks, “What’s your name?” and I said, “E-liss-a” trying my best not to start crying hysterically. Then he said, “Elissa, how are you, thank you so much.” and then he kissed my cheek and I like freaked out! Oh it was the best day of my life ever!!!!
Oh wow, not only meeting your favourite actor but for it to be on television must have been pretty epic! Hard to believe that was only ten years ago eh? Time flies by so fast! I wish I could meet some of my favourite actors, although I would probably have trouble deciding who exactly was my favourite since I have so many that I love at different times in my life.
I will watch the clip as soon as I get home :) sounds like such a memorable day, I can imagine that it came as such a shock to you. I met Hanson in 2007 which I had been waiting 10years for, though I got an e-mail weeks in advance so I had a bit of time to process the information first lol! If I’d have been in that position I’d have probably been a wreck andpasses out on the floor lol!

Oh my goodness that is so adorable!!! I remember I wanted to go to TRL a few different times because famous people that I HAD TO MEET OR I WOULD DIE were there and my parents wouldn’t let me because I would miss school. I mean, come on, it was just a short train ride. Oh well. I lived so I guess my parents were right!

my parents wouldn’t let me go by myself though. I begged my mom all day to come home from work early. finally i won and this was the result :)
That must have been a great experience. The only famous person that I have met was a character out of a soap, Holyoaks.
Hahaha, oh man! That’s awesome that you got it on TV, but man, the look on your face is priceless! Hehe.
OH MY GOSH… I don’t know what to say but I CAN TOTALLY SEE your excitement there and I’m so happy for you that this happened, albeit ten years ago. I saw a part of you die when he kissed you. Hahahaha <333 I totally know how you felt that day, when I met Ben Jorgensen I felt like I was going to literally explode when he gave me a hug. DFGJGGKJ hahahaha
OMG! That’s beyond awesome, dude!!! :) Aww, I can literally feel your happiness! I’ve never met any famous people in real life, lol. Sucks! Maybe one day! ^____^
