I really need a new scale, er, or a battery for my current one. I can only weigh myself when I go to my parents’. According to their scale, I’ve lost weight and my clothes seem to agree with that assessment, but now I’m at the most difficult part of any weight loss journey: maintaining.

I never know how many calories I should be eating. Generally I maintain by: losing weight -> eat more, gaining weight: eat less. Right now I don’t know if I’m gaining or losing so I don’t know if I should be good or bad at dinner tonight. Well, honestly, being good would mean leaving out the best part of dinner, the dessert, so I guess my choices are bad or really bad.

Tomorrow is Easter, so I’m leaning more towards bad. Walnut salad or feta wrap? Either way, I’m not leaving that restaurant with less than 900 calories in my belly. Our favorite dessert has 700 calories, if we share. Yeah, the Uno Deep Dish Sundae, 1400 calories. Worth every single one.

On Wednesday I went out with the meetup group again. Went to Macaroni Grill. We’re pretty sure our waiter was on crack. We all broke out in a fit of giggles when we asked our other waiter where he went and he replied laughing, “he had to um, step out for some air.” It took them, gosh, almost an hour from when we were finished eating to when we were finished paying. They had a really hard time with the separate checks and in the end, they left off a bunch of drinks and appetizers. Yay free food, but nothing free for me. The waiter said he would take off the included tip since the service was horrendous, but we insisted he leave it on. They were very entertaining.

Plus the food was good. I had the spinach and scallop salad which was just about the yummiest salad ever. Of course that wasn’t enough to fill me up and I ate about 3/4 of a loaf of bread as well, but I was still OK since I didn’t have dessert.

We talked about other events we could plan. I’m all for karaoke, even if I’ll be the only one singing!

Looks like I’ll be having another busy week at work since Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is next Thursday X( I got the telepresence session and the tour scheduled which were the two hardest things, so I think we’ll be OK. Just need to beg some people to volunteer, buy stuff for their goodie bags and think of some ice breaker games. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. TWISTER. Bring back a classic hahhaa.

Sounds like you had an entertaining dinner indeed. I haven’t had spinach and scallop salad but I love those two foods alone. Last time I did buy a salad at a restaurant, it didn’t taste how I expected. :X

I hope you get a new scale or something! One of my friends prefers to look in the mirror instead, she knows that she might not lose weight but notices a change in her appearance. She doesn’t find scales to be all that accurate. :P

  2. Lol, that waiter does sound hilarious XD Sometimes the entertainment really makes up for the lack of service =P

Hope you’ll get a new scale soon, to make things a little more easy to monitor =P

  3. Good luck thinking of ice breakers… I never have any ideas about that.

As for meetup and that particular meetup, wow, seems like you’re having a great time with them!! Which is really great! =)

  4. You’re right. Maintaining is the hardest part of losing weight. I find that to be one of my biggest challenges since I tend to drink my calories instead of eating them. No good! Your waiter sounds nuts! I always love going out and having a crazy waiter, haha. It adds to the dinner, as long as he/she doesn’t mess up my food, lol.

  5. That waiter sounds hilarious! I’m sure they probably appreciated you seeing the funny side too, I bet a lot of people would’ve kicked off! In reply to your comment on my blog, The Walking Dead has only recently premiered, but as we enjoyed the first episode so much we ended up downloading the rest of the season – so I have seen it all now! Cant wait until season 2, but in read it’s not being aired in US until October!?

  6. I’ve never honestly been on a true diet. I eat what I want when I want. I know that sounds horrible, but I’m in great health and my weight never really seems to change at all. I guess I’m lucky or something. I can never eat ice cream when I’m out at dinner because they never have ice cream I can eat. :( It always makes me sad when everyone else gets to eat ice cream and I have to get something else (or normally nothing at all). Good luck with the sons/daughters at work. Wish I had tips but I’m not that great with kids. lol. :)

    1. I eat whatever I want on the weekends, but if I ate like that every day, I’d be the size of a house! lol. I have to build up a major calorie deficit during the week to eat like that.
