Big weekend. There was the royal wedding and they killed Bin Laden. I give both a resounding, that’s nice. Yeah, prince, princess, love, evil villain is dead, it’s all very storybook happy-ending stuff, but none of it makes a difference in my daily life.

I do find two things very disturbing about this Osama stuff. It was one thing when we thought he was living in a cave in the middle of no where, but a mansion in suburban Pakistan? Really? Some hiding spot. They had no idea he was there?

And what’s with the partying like it’s freakin’ New Years? Someone died. Yes, he was evil and wanted us all dead, but we’re supposed to be better than him. We eliminated a threat, that’s a good thing, but it’s not Mardi Gras.

I hope this helps Obama out. Things have been pretty rough for him. I don’t think he’s been doing a crazy good job or anything, but when you’re trying to run a country and people are caught up on your birth certificate…

  1. Hey! Hmm, yea, I agree. Lots of world events going on in a short period. The royal wedding is pretty much overshadowed by the bin Laden thing. Ironic, I say.

I am not entirely happy with Obama (not about the bin Laden thing – I am so happy he is gone!) but with other things. But my rule of thumb is to not get into politics online. Or with really many people. Two things I try and avoid discussing with people I’m not very familiar with are politics and religion. It’s just safer. :)

Anyway, well as much as I agree or disagree, I have to say that the president’s position is a hard one. Have you seen before and after pics? How the position of president ages a person.

    1. I have an issue with pretty much all of our government officials right now. We’re in super debt and are going into further debt by the minute and it’s like they can’t do anything about it because they’re so busy arguing. Then you have our governor who is actually cutting stuff, but the wrong stuff. It’s all very frustrating.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be to be the president, but I guess he signed up for it. Dunno if I’ll be voting for him. Guess it depends on who the other idiot is.

  2. This happened on my birthday. I literally woke up and everyone was like Happy Birthday Chris, Osama is dead. I honestly think things are going to get worse now that he’s been killed. As for the Royal Wedding, I didn’t watch it. To me, they are just government officials like Obama. I wouldn’t wake up at 4am to watch his wedding either (if he wasn’t already married).
