Really cheap! You’ll have to have it towed and there’s at least $1500 of repairs that need to be done, but once you fix it up, you can sell it for a nice profit.

For those of you who aren’t my facebook or twitter buddies, I was in an accident last week. Some timing, right? I thought the car in front of me was going to go through the yellow, it stopped instead, my car did not. Teenage driver with his mom in the car, of course he stopped at the yellow.

Their car wasn’t so bad. Mine is leaking coolant and needs the front bumper and hood replaced. But as you all know, it wasn’t in good shape before the accident either. That check engine light was still on, still all rusted and it still had issues accelerating, and breaking apparently…

I was going to buy a new car that weekend anyway, and I did. Of course I was out my $3000-4000 trade-in, but I had enough money for a good certified used Honda. 2008 is a year older than I wanted, but it has very few miles. Looking forward to being able to stuff furniture in there. It’ll be nice to have a working clock again. It’s the little things.

  1. Good luck selling that old thing! :P I’m sure someone out there will want it and repair it somehow. I read a book a few weeks ago about a poor couple who knew next to nothing about cars and got ripped off with some repaired model, pretty much everything had been repaired with bits and bobs and the car wasn’t even recognisable as a proper model. I’m sorry about the car accident. D: I hope there wasn’t too much paperwork to go with that… have fun with the new car!

  2. Do you have a scrap place near you? We have a place called Chuck and Eddy’s and they come and pick up your car, tow it if need be, then when they bring it to their place they scrap it and sell the parts. My boyfriend got 500 bucks for his old car that died and was falling apart. It’s not AS MUCH as you would make selling it, but if you can’t find a buyer, it might work. I hope you find someone who will buy it. I’m sorry about your accident, too, but glad that you are okay!

  3. Good luck selling your car!! Sorry to hear about the accident, I remember that Facebook status. But glad you were able to get a good car! Do you know anything about cars, or do you go with Bryan to look at them?

    1. I don’t know anything about cars, but I researched which one I wanted to buy. Went with my parents.

  4. Wow, it’s been a while since I was last here… and the layout still looks the same. heehee oh the memories!

Sorry to hear about your car. I tend to stop at yellow lights (I’m also a new driver), but don’t take this out on me!!!! haha. I’m glad you’re safe though. That’s the important thing. :)

  5. Uh, good luck finding a buyer for the car. I’m sorry to hear about the accident. I’ve been in car accidents myself so I know how disturbing it can be. But I’m glad you’re safe and sound, that’s what matters most. :)

    Have a nice day. :D

  6. I am glad you are okay after the crash. I hate it when drivers are in two minds at a yellow light then slam their breaks on at the last moment.

  7. Oh no! I’m glad your okay after the crash, and that you were planning on buying another car anyway! But still, that couldn’t have been fun =(
