My 101 in 1001 is up next month and I only accomplished about of the things on the list. Some of the things I’m not even sure if I accomplished or not because I wasn’t keeping track. I think 1001 days is a little too long for a list like this. Things that were important a couple years ago, are no longer relevant.

I wanted to go to Hawaii, now I want to go to Italy. When we lived in the apartment, the headboard for our bed was about the only thing missing, once we moved, we needed a whole slew of new furniture. I still really want a dog, but I hate the idea of leaving a dog alone all day.

Some of the items were just silly. I must have gotten pretty desperate for items when I started writing things like: organize my books and/or DVDs by color, visit a penguin (though I did that a few times over), build a fort, braid my hair…

Some goals I exceeded, like the 10,000 steps, the 20 pushups, and I’m sure I’ve tried more than 25 new recipes. I stayed well under 118 pounds and I’m still exercising six days a week for at least an hour. At least I rocked the healthy goals.

Out of my unfinished goals, there’s only few that I’d still like to do. I want to go apple picking one of these days, go see a live taping of a show, go to a sci-fi con and eat at Serendipity 3. There are also things that I really should have done, and still need to do like to go see Akua in the city and mail in my life insurance beneficiary forms.

I said I was going to write a new list, but I don’t think I’ll bother since I don’t feel I got much out of this little experiment. Maybe I’ll just make a more generic list of things I’d like to do before I’m 30, a dynamic list.

  1. A dynamic list sounds good. I thought about things that I wanted to do and you’re right… goals do change over time so it’s kind of hard to keep up with one list over a long period of time.

  2. anytime you want to do item 46 let me know

and item 64- didn’t you go to a farscape convention?

  3. I had a 101 in 1001 list before my website crashed and to be honest… I’m so glad it’s gone. I just didn’t keep track! But you definitely rocked the healthy part, so yay =D

  4. I’ve done two 101 lists. I learned my lesson after the first one: not to make goals too big, to make some of them general (like instead of picking Hawaii, I’ll just say to visit some place [x] miles away), and to change things if needed as time goes on. :) With the second list I still got bored every now and then but it was easier to keep track of.
