Yeah, I can hike, I was a girl scout :P Bryan’s friend, Brian organized a hike at Hickory Run State Park yesterday in the Poconos. We started off at Boulder Field and eventually found the trail to the waterfall. Walking on those rocks was a pain in the butt. Luckily we didn’t have to walk back. It was already pretty late when we left, so we sent cars out ahead to drive the drivers back to the parking lot.

Good times. Until my foot started hurting again and I had to walk on it funny to prevent the pain and now my leg hurts from walking funny, but otherwise I don’t hurt. And I only got two mosquito bites. Well, I got the two and then slathered myself in bug spray.

I refused to pee in the woods, so I was trying not to drink a lot of water. Once we got back to the cabin I downed an entire bottle in about three seconds. I also pigged out on the veggie platter and cherries. Hey, if you’re gonna pig out on something, might as well be fruit and veggies. I didn’t even have any of the hamburgers, hotdogs or lasagna. I just wanted the veggies… and the ice cream, brownies and cookies of course.

We had a lot of fun hanging out and talking. Everyone else was sleeping over, but we left at 1am since we hadn’t planned to sleep there. Two hours back to our place. Didn’t feel sleepy until I went to bed around 3. Yay for not being an old lady yet :D

And because I need a picture of food, I made myself french toast this morning:

  1. Looks like you had fun hiking! :) I’d hate walking on rocks, I never liked it because I’d slip. =/ Anyway, yum, French toast… I was making some the day before, but got interrupted in the middle of it. LOL.

  2. Yay for hiking!!! Nice pictures too!
I would love to be one of those people who love to hike, but I’m not. I keep blaming the fact that I don’t have the right shoes to wear, but really I just don’t like exerting too much physical energy (aka, I’m lazy). So props to you! And the french toast looks really good with all those berries. What are they, like super tiny blueberries with the strawberries??

    1. yeah, the shoprite organic blueberries are just about the tiniest blueberries ever, but while the extra skin is less tasty, it’s also healthier

  3. Yuuuuums! :D

I love, love, love hiking. I wouldn’t like walking on rocks too much, but I’ve walked on steep surfaces a lot and the other week my boyfriend and I climbed some rocks. I find it kind of fun. XD

I love water, I couldn’t not drink… if it came to peeing in the woods for me, I guess I’d have to. :P I don’t know if I have a small bladder, but I just hate when I want to use the bathroom and there isn’t one nearby…

  4. That looks fun! But I’ve never tried hiking before. at school, I did trecking … is that the same thing? But anyway, yeah I did that and it’s just too hard. Walking around woods etc. I don’t like camping either. Dx It;s just not …me. Haha.

    YUMMY! THE FOOD LOOKS AWESOME!

  5. First off, the pictures are so wonderful. Especially the one with the toast! lol

Kidding, the one with the falls is the most awesome one. I hope you had a wonderful hiking trip, I’d like to try this indeed someday. :)

  6. Haha! I don’t fancy peeing in the woods either, which is why I tend to sip instead of drink water too. That fresh toast looks yummms!!
