I didn’t like Thanksgiving much when I was a kid. I was a very picky eater and I really wasn’t into turkey or stuffing or any of that stuff. I didn’t even like pie all that much. I really liked cranberry sauce. The jello-like stuff in the can, not the good kind. Yeah, the cranberry sauce was pretty much the highlight of the holiday for me.
I’ve really grown to love Thanksgiving though. I think I may like it even more than Christmas. I mean, Christmas you get presents, which is cool, but you also have to deal with the shopping and the crowds. Thanksgiving is a holiday dedicated to stuffing your face. Now that’s a holiday.
I really love food. I started off in life hating pretty much everything and now I can count on one hand the foods I don’t eat. Bacon, ham, asparagus, bean sprouts. And I’ll still eat those if I have to. There’s other foods I don’t like, but I won’t go actively out of my way to avoid them anymore.
I think it was the dining hall food that made me appreciate real, healthy food. When you’re fed nothing but hot dogs, over-baked pasta and dry chicken four four years, you really learn to appreciate fruit and un-soggy vegetables.
When asked what leftover food we wanted to bring home today, I said all of it. I love food.

A happy turkey day indeed! I forgot that yesterday was turkey day for Americans. I actually never had turkey until I started dating the hubby, where his family always had turkey every year. Whereas my family had something like pork chops, semi-mashed potatoes with mayo, and eggs with macaroni.
Sounds like you had a great meal! I wish I was there… I always take everything home as well ^_^
LOL about Thanksgiving. I’ve NEVER had an actual Thanksgiving dinner before. We don’t celebrate any holidays. LOL.
LOL about loving food! ME TOO! Hehe about the dining hall. My sister tells me about it too, and she craves food from home now, even though the food at home really isn’t all that great… LOL.
I was never a really picky eater. I would have to say that I hate liver, carrots, lima beans and some other things that I can’t think of right now lol. Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. I like Christmas, I’m just not into it as much anymore.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving, by the way!
