I ate so much food. We had small lunches every day, so when it came time for dinner we were hungry and well, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. That and the company was paying for the food. We ordered a lot. And when Maryam and Smita couldn’t finish their meals, guess who stepped in to help.
The first night we ate at this really interesting Italian place with things on the menu I’ve never seen before. I had a vegetarian dish. Basically it was spaghetti squash with sweet potato ravioli in a butter sauce. It was absolutely delicious. The salad and dessert were amazing as well. Maryam and Smita weren’t all too impressed with their entrées, but I loved mine.
On day two we ate at a Spanish restaurant recommended by Kathy. We ordered fish and this rice thing. It was OK. Definitely not wort the money if we weren’t paying for it.
Day three was the best. We ate at this Indian place and the food was amazing and the service was great. Well, the place was empty besides us, so I guess that helped, but they were very nice. We left there really stuffed. I mean, really, really, omg, I’m gonna explode stuffed.
Day four we ate at this Middle-Eastern place. The food was pretty good, but the service was terrible. Long story short, they ended up over-charging me and we left a really crappy tip mostly because they wouldn’t put the tip on our receipt, but they deserved a crappy tip anyway.
Yesterday we had lunch at some random restaurant we picked because it was close to our parking spot, lol. It was really good though and the waiter was awesome. He got a nice tip ;)
The hotel had a gym, so I did exercise every day. I don’t think it was enough to burn off my excess of, oh, 1000 calories? lol. It’s OK, my pants still fit. I really liked their gym actually. Almost no one was there at night and all their machines were new and pretty nice. I want an elliptical machine now. Those are fun.
The training itself was OK. The instructor was nice and he tried his best to teach us as much as he could. You just can’t learn all of this stuff in four days. It’s impossible. We learned a lot, but we would need like a month in order to be able to actually fix any real problems. If there is a strike … it won’t be good on either end. The instructor says the union people would have to be really stupid to strike in this economy because they will lose their jobs. He also said that there’s a lot of young, stupid people who would be willing to strike though. We’ll see.
Pictures coming soon.

Ahahah. I know what you mean about eating a lot. We actually had BIG lunches, so I only had small dinners.
Indian food is actually pretty good!
Huh? What do you mean they didn’t put tip on your receipt??
Hehe about the training. LOL, yeah, geez, sounds crazy for 4 days… =/ But glad you guys had free time, enough to go to the hotel’s gym! Haha!
In order to be reimbursed for the tip, it has to go on the receipt. They wouldn’t let us pay it with credit, and they refused to write that we paid tip on the receipt.
Ok, gotcha.
Indian food’s my personal fav. What are you training for?
To do installation and repair of telephone lines should the union workers strike.
Man you made me hungry for something fabulous now. Especially with that description of your veg Italian dish…
Sounds like you had an awesome time, with plenty of great food!! I’m a recreational eater, I eat when I’m bored, I eat just for the heck of it, I eat when the food looks really good… at least the hotel had a gym!!! That reminds me of when I was in Vegas… all we did was eat and walk.
Nothing like reading posts about food, when you’re already famished. Sounds like you had a great time. Yummy food!
That trip sounds awesome, foodwise. I got a three day education to be a student ambassador for my school and we mostly ate. Coffeebreaks and lunches. Free foods awesome!
