We went to Wildwood again this past week with my parents, though pretty much only saw them at dinner. Marybeth and Tom came by for a visit on Thursday, was nice to see them. No meltdowns over claw machines this year, yay!
we arrived on Monday and went down to the beach. Weather was nice, water was a little cold. Kids had fun in the waves and digging holes. Then they swam in the pool for a while. We had dinner at the Mexican place again and I did get the veggie burritos again which were yum.
Tuesday we went to The Ocean Oasis water Park. We probably should have gone a little later in the day because the morning was too cool and Glenn wanted to leave around 12:30. Then it got hot as we were doing rides. I had got the kids the unlimited water park and rides bands, but after just a few rides, they were tired and wanted to go back to the hotel. We had dinner at the Italian place.
Wednesday we did Raging Waters water park. We learned from the day prior and left a few hours later. This made a huge difference. Wasn’t too cold, kids had a blast. Glenn and Owen did one of the big slides together multiple times. Went straight to Duffers after for some ice cream and mini golf.
Thursday, the kids decided to do the pool and then the beach. We spent about two hours doing each with a long break between for snacks. Then we visited with MB and Tom at my parents’ room before they left. We had several ride tickets left, so we went back to the boardwalk. We ate dinner at Jersey Girls, which was surprisingly good. The band was also surprisingly good. We did a couple little coasters we hadn’t done before on one of the piers that doesn’t open until 5. Then went back to do the Ferris wheel, which I skipped because we were two credits short. Glenn wanted to do the monster truck thing again, so we also did that and stayed out past his bedtime. Since we were late for bedtime anyway, we joined my parents at the fire pit for cookies at the hotel.
Friday, we were too tired to do anything and it was rainy, so we just had lunch and then decided to go home. Except the car wouldn’t start, despite having just brought it in for an oil change. So AAA came and saved our butts with a new battery. A minor blip on an overall excellent trip.
