Happy Birthday to My Bryan!

Yay, today’s Bryan’s birthday! His birthday party was Saturday, more on that in a bit.

Work has been unpredictable lately. Sometimes, like right now, it’s very quiet. Other times, I have five people calling me at once and don’t know which problem to work on first. I enjoy the quiet while I can. Can’t wait until Eddie comes back.

That dress I ordered on ebay was fixed enough to wear. I got $60 back from the seller. Still probably a ripoff at $78, ++$8 repairs, but it would have been worse at $138.

Saturday morning I took my car in for the fixes. $800 later, my car no longer makes noise and I have brakes that are all better, though I never knew there was anything wrong with them. I had to transfer money from my savings to checking for the first time ever. Well, I didn’t have to, but better to.

We were worried that people would come while we went to pick up my car. No one showed up really until a couple hours later. But once people were there, much fun and food were had. Julia made a crazy fancy cake that everyone loved. Helen brought her famous dip that I just finished off for lunch today :) Emily brought salsa which will make for some very yummy tacos later in the week.

We played Rockband and Telephone Pictionary. The game was a little too hilarious for me. I was laughing so hard I was in pain. This of course led to even more laughing. Pictures and video are on facebook. I’ll post them later here.

Sunday, I installed The Sims 3 on my new laptop, and as a result, got absolutely nothing done, including blogging. Bad Lissy.

My parents took us out to lunch for Bryan’s birthday. We went to the Japanese place I always go to with my coworkers. Sweet potato sushi, yum :P Then we all had cake and my parents passed out on the couch. Ah, carbs.

    Yep, I know EXACTLY what you mean about work! I actually HATE that! I’d like to be kept “busy” EVERY day, not the crazy hard stuff, just busy enough to have time pass by, you know? But nope, some days it’s REALLY crazy, others, it’s soo quiet… Urg. LOL!

    Glad to hear that the dress got fixed, but sorry to hear that it was a ripoff… Good thing it wasn’t THAT big of a ripoff, though.

    Wow, $800?! Geez! I think we’ve had that happen before, though… =( Glad that it’s fixed! Hehe about transferring money from your savings to checking. Most of the time, that’s what I do. Especially at the beginning of the month, when I pretty much empty out my checking so that I can earn interest from the money in my savings. Then I transfer *hopefully* enough for the month, but then a lot of times, I’d have to transfer a couple hundred over, due to unexpected stuff, like from my sister or something.

    I’m glad that the party went well, and that everyone had fun!!! =)

    Sweet potato sushi?? Never heard of it, but I wouldn’t eat it either… Since I don’t like sweet potatos.

  4. Ouch, I’m sorry it took so much to fix the car but at least it’s fixed now. Sweet Potato Sushi sounds awesome! Carbs always make me pass out haha.

  6. Happy Belated Birthday to Bryan! I swear, every time people tell things about their cars, it usually involves spending loads of money. It makes me appreciate public transportation. If I had a car, I wouldn’t know what the hell to do lol.

    1. I really wish more areas of the country had better public transportation. I could take a train to work, but I would have walk maybe, 30 minutes to the train station? And then wait for the train, spend 10 minutes on the train and walk 30 minutes from the train station to work. It only takes 15 minutes to drive there and it’s cheaper.
      If I worked in the city I would take public transportation. I would still need a car to visit my friends/family/mall though. NJ sucks like that.
