Thursday we had a small pizza party before our interview brown bag to raise money for United Way. Ah yes, it’s that time of the year again. When I get paid to wonder around the fourth floor begging for loose change and color in little ice cream cones for banners. Yeah, like is tough :P Today I’m manning the parking spot raffle and the ice cream sale booths. OK, it’s not the most fun thing in the world, but it’s better than testing servlets and it’s for charity. Double win.

Bryan’s elliptical came on Friday. I already love it. His friends came and put it together for us while I played the sims :D

Saturday I went to my future sister-in-law’s shower. I mostly hung out with Bryan’s mom and grandma. We did some arts and crafts and there were games and such. The food was good. Too good. I have to stop eating like that.

Sunday Bryan and I went registering at Macy’s. I thought I would like the stuff at Target better, but Macy’s kinda kicked Target’s butt. I really like the plates we registered for. They’re pretty and dishwaher/microwave safe. Yay! I also found extra deep pocket sheets on their website which we desperately need. We have deep pocket sheets from Target, but they’re not nearly deep enough. Damn pillow-top thing. I’m also really excited about the luggage I picked out :)

If you’ve been reading my past few blogs, you know that I have been really pigging out lately. Unfortunately this has caused me to gain some weight. Normally I wouldn’t care, but my first dress fitting is next month and I was worried about fitting into that thing before I put on weight. So now, Lissy on a mini diet of small dinner and no dessert. Well, actually, I haven’t been eating dessert the past couple months now. Yeah, I really overdo it on the weekends. That needs to stop too.

I also decided to sign up for the 10,000 steps thing at work this year. You pay $25 and they give you a pedometer and a log and you have to write down how many steps you take each day. I debated on whether on not to sign up last year. I decided it was a waste of money since I could do it for half the price by myself. Of course, I didn’t. Hopefully this will get me off of my lazy butt during the day and force me to take the stairs. Something I haven’t been doing the past few months. Bad Lissy.

  1. Is your Twitter set to private now? =P Haha, just noticed your sidebar…

Oh man, I remember that “begging for change” thing! Hehe!

Ooh, Macy’s! Like a month before your wedding, put all of the links to your registries up so that we can look at it online. ;)

Oh man, good luck with that mini-diet and dress fitting!!

LOL, I don’t go on stairs often either… Well, because I don’t go onto other floors much…

  2. I keep reading about you playing the Sims. How is your family doing?

I think that’s great that your work is doing a 10,000 steps thing. I think it helps to have motivation from a group with the same goal, and that since you are paying a little more than doing it on your own, it’s an extra added motivation.

I have to get me a pedometer and try that out.

    Macy’s is great!

    1. lol, my sims are doing quite well. They just bought a new home by the beach and little Nathan, who looks just like his father, got a promotion in his part-time job :)

  3. Maybe the step walking thing will help you in the long run, this way you won’t have to completely cut out the foods that you like to eat.
