I know, I didn’t blog all week. I’ve been very busy with wedding stuff + work + more wedding stuff.
Thursday was interesting. I applied to be on a wedding show (not Bridezillas) last week and they called me and asked me to audition. So after my dermatologist appointment on Saturday, I headed down to the train station, an hour before the train was supposed to get there, and sat in the freezing rain while some teenager talked to me in Spanish. The train was huge.
I was very proud of myself. Took the train in to NYC all by myself, got to the audition early, without getting lost, made it back without getting lost.
The audition went pretty well I think. I don’t think they’ll pick me, but I had fun, and that’s the important thing. I filled out this huge legal document. That took FOREVER. Really, I promise, if I hurt myself, I won’t blame you.
On the way home from the train station, the streets in Matawan were all flooded and closed with no detour signs. I had no idea how to get back to our apartment, but I just took the street I was on all the way down to 35 and that worked. Yeah for non sucky sense of direction!
Today was absolutely terrible. I was on call all day. I figured by 11, no one called me, things were going well, wrong. Eddie calls and tells me there’s some problem on the second weblogic instance. I log in and check the log and the problem magically goes away. Yup, I’m that good.
I wait around a while, but no one needs me, so my mom and I assemble invitations. I knew it wouldn’t be fun, but it was really, really, not fun.
3:00, I get called again. This time, there’s a problem with the application we couldn’t test. There was about 50 things that could have gone wrong, so I figured at least five things would, and that was about right. I helped resolve a couple. Then we couldn’t connect to two of the machines. I had no frickin’ idea what was wrong. We called Leo, Leo fixed it. By the time we got off the call, it was 8:30. That means I made about $130 after taxes. Yeah, not worth it.
I’ve wanted brownies all week. I’m PMSing, I deserve chocolate. My daddy went out and bought me brownies. Rachie came over and we ate brownies. Brownies are good.

Oh wow, that’s awesome about going to/from NYC! I really wished I could go to NYC… LOL, one day….
Haha, I know what you mean about sense of direction! Yeah, I probably would have done what you did.
LOL, yeah, being on-call does suck… Haha, but I’m pretty sure you’re getting paid a lot more than I do… Haha…
Hehe, glad you had your brownies! =) Haven’t had them in a couple of years, I believe. I don’t bake brownies at all, but maybe I should start one day… Haha!
That’s so cool that you auditioned for a wedding show! Sounds like it was fun, even if you don’t pick you. :)
That’s why I liked my wedding ( but at the same time hated it ). Just get the marriage application and certificate, invite people, and show up at a court house. ;)
That’s so amazing you went out all the way to audition!! I believe those can be fun when they’re not out to ruin your life but to give you a fair chance as well. I’m glad you had fun for that :)
Ah, when you make your own invitations it’s definitely not fun…. but it’s a necessity. I’m glad to hear the train to the wedding is smoothly running still. You should MOST DEFINITELY treat yourself to some brownies :)
That is SO cool that you auditioned in NYC to be on a show! I’d never be gutsy enough to do that…not that ill ever have a wedding with which to be on a show. Lol. Yay for brownies.
