Yes, I can’t dance, you all know this. I’m not the world’s worst dancer, but it’s definitely not on my list of things I am talented at. Still, I have rhythm, I can dance OK enough to get by at a wedding, so why can’t I? I dance three days a week as my cardio on strength days. Again, I’m not good, but at least I can get my body to move. Put me out on a dance floor and I freeze. I’m not usually self conscious, I don’t care all that much what people think of me. I’m not that shy anymore. I can get up in front of an audience and sing, I can do presentations at work, I generally act silly most of the time in front of family/friends/strangers. Why does dancing at a wedding feel like torture? I don’t understand. I was OK until I was about 12. I don’t know what happened. This is why we’re having karaoke at the wedding.

Anyway, aside from being forced to dance, Chris and Rae’s wedding was pretty great. We were late :O I started hyperventilating at 12:30 on the way to the tux rental place. I get freaked out if I’m not early for something. Bryan’s brother told him the ceremony started at 3:00. I don’t know how I would have reacted if I knew it was at 2:30. But we made it there and good times were had. His family’s so awesome. You hear horror stories about in-laws. I really lucked out.

Backtracking a bit, we threw Surbhi a shower at work on Monday. She was quite surprised even though she knew that we were going to throw her one. We kidnapped her and took her to the Malaysian place. That’s our favorite restaurant. Can’t beat good, cheap food.

Saturday was Surbhi’s wedding. My first Indian wedding and my first wedding on a ship. It sailed to the Statue of Liberty and back. I tried to get a good picture, but I fail. The food was soooo delicious. I love Indian food so much. I banked my calories this week for that. And as good as the dinner was, the dessert was better. Little shot glasses full of chocolate heaven and a thousand other different things to try. Oh and dark chocolate covered strawberries! <3 Gosh,it all must have cost a fortune. I can't even imagine. I didn't dance at this one either. I don't think I would have if I wanted to. Everyone was on that dance floor. It looked a little scary. They were fun to watch though. Very good dancers. Sunday, we went to Bryan's stepsister's for dinner. More yum! I'll be amazed if I didn't gain any weight this past weekend, lol. We talked about the weddings and how to train husbands. Good times. They have adorable doggas too :D I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

  1. I can still dance at your wedding, right Lissy?

I love the karaoke idea and am looking forward to it!

  2. Wow, sounds like wedding fever wherever you are! Two in one weekend and your own upcoming…very exciting! Congratulations on that, btw. :)

Lol, I know what you mean about dancing, I hate dancing too, but in my case I’m also really really bad at it. I don’t even have rhythm, and even on DDR…it’s a horrific sight to behold. :P

Lol though at Bryan’s comment (two above/below me)…hehehe.

  3. I’m glad that Bryan’s brother’s wedding went well, although you guys were late! Hehe!

Wow, no wonder you had a picture of the Statue of Liberty up there(haha, I mean on Facebook)! That wedding must have been EXPENSIVE!!

Hehe about dancing, yeah, I’m not that good either… Never really danced in public before. Haven’t really danced since high school. Haha. (I was in Dance PE one year.)

Wow, you had so much good food… Hehe!

  4. Yeah, I usually dislike going out on a dance floor. I can sympathize with you. I’m glad you still had a nice time, though!
