So … We Got Married Last Week

Four hours of sleep and I didn’t need any caffeine. I was so incredibly giddy. I was bouncing off the walls and I actually danced at the reception! Me, dancing! Well, it was more like me swooshing around my skirt, but it looked like I was dancing.

The morning was a bit crazy. It took a while to get my hair and makeup done. We sang “Somebody’s Getting Married” while we waited :D I left the hotel at the time I said I was going to, but people were calling asking where I was. I drove down the parkway wearing my veil. I arrived at the Grand Marquis only a few minutes late I think. A bunch of people helped me into my dress and took pictures and video. They made comments on how impressive my girlie muscles were, lol.

Then we went upstairs for pictures. We didn’t have time for too many, but we didn’t want a lot of posed pictures. As we were going back downstairs I asked Dianne how behind schedule we were. She said we weren’t. I thought she just said that to make me feel better, but we were actually doing pretty good on time. This is when I tweeted that I was getting married NOW :P

Then back upstairs for the ceremony. I walked in to Carolyn playing the “Muppets’ He’ll Make Me Happy.” I nearly cried about 12 times during the ceremony, but I kept my cool. My eyes just got a little teary. I thought I was gonna lose it when Cara started singing, but I took a few deep breaths and I was OK. She did a beautiful job though, especially considering she was about to lose it, lol.

The reception was awesome! Everyone was into the Karaoke. They loved us singing “You’re My Best Friend” and my rendition of “If I Were a Bell” from Guys and Dolls. We had a lot of good singers there. People danced too! I danced!

The food was amazing, but I already knew it would be.

The hardest “I’m not going to cry” moment of the night was Rachelle’s MOH speech.

The only thing that went slightly wrong was that the slideshow didn’t display properly and cut off the side of some of the pictures. Really, that’s it, and we didn’t even care about that. Really, if anything went wrong, we probably wouldn’t have cared because we were just having too much fun, but nothing went wrong. It would have been nice to have more time to talk to everyone, but I think I at least said hi to everyone there. Every time we tried to go over to a table, they were telling us we had to sing or cut the cake or something, lol.

I’m so glad we decided to hire a Day of Coordinator. Dianne was awesome! She took care of everything and I really just got to enjoy myself. We left my bag at the hotel and she even went back there to get it for me. Hiring her was the best decision we made.

I’ll post photos and videos as soon as I get them. I’ll also blog about our freezing Florida honeymoon :P
