Lysol, I have taken your anti-germ propaganda long enough. The product itself is not ridiculous, actually it’s kinda neat, it’s the advertising I find offensive. GERMS ARE NOT THE ENEMY.
We need this stuff to live. That probiotic stuff in your yogurt they advertise all the time, that’s bacteria. It helps our bodies function properly.
Our bodies were made to be exposed to germs. You keep your kid in a sterile environment, it will frell up their immune system. What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
Unless you’re working in a hospital or something, there’s no need to own antibacterial soap. Normal soap is good enough. If we all start using antibacterial stuff, we’ll just end up with super bacteria that will wipe us off the face of the Earth like in some bad sci-fi movie.
As for Lysol’s new advertising campaign… Really, a germy soap dispenser? That’s your villain? The only reason the girl touches it is because she’s going to wash her hands. She could pick up all sorts of horrible, nasty germs, 20 seconds later, it won’t mater! That’s the whole point of washing your hands!

Wow… things have gotten so propaganda-ish, I agree, people fail to realize that the bad is also what keeps us immune and living. I refuse to get that H1N1 shot and want to live naturally anyways. Germs is going to be everywhere, if you can avoid it while you’re awake, you’re most likely not gonna be able to avoid it when you’re sleeping.
I think vaccines are a good thing. They work by exposing us to the virus so our immune system knows how to fight something if we’re exposed to it later on. The more people who get a vaccine, the less likely the virus will spread over a large part of the population, the less likely someone young, old, or with a weak immune system will contract it.
Yup. You need some germs in your environment so that you can build up an immunity! I completely agree. I wish that people would realize this instead of sterilizing everything around them and not touching anything.
I think I have seen something like that. They have a toothpaste thing as well.
I don’t mind germs I have 2 boys in the house. One goes to school the other works at the school. So they’re bound to bring something home xD

That is SO damned true. Sometimes, I wonder about the brains of these advertisers. What’s sad is, there are going to be people who will buy the product thinking it’s some new kind of spectacular invention.
I’ve always believed that our bodies should be exposed to things. Granted, some people’s bodies just aren’t designed to handle things, that’s the way of life, regardless of the use of any soap, vaccination, antibiotic or any other form of medicine. When I’m sick, I try to avoid as much medicine as possible so that my body can adjust to certain things. Medicines and soaps are just our ways of cheating… our bodies, that is.
